Because, she could find no other use for it.

Not by choice, but by default.
And I once knew a girl, who was built with a thousand colours,
The shades clashing, what was right, and what was wrong.
And I once knew a girl who wanted to die laughing,
Choking on the endless ocean of her blood.
And I once knew a girl who would walk behind her friends as they passed the mental hospital at the night's darkest hour,
And she'd say, "I'll be killed first, I'll die protecting you."
